Nutrition Coaching

Online nutrition coaching with Sweeney Fitness involves personalized guidance and support from one of our nutrition coaches through online communication such as email, text/phone, and zoom or google meet video chats.

Our coaching includes a (free) initial virtual consultation once your client intake form is received, direct connection to your coach, ongoing nutrition and meal guidance, support, and more. Communication may occur through video calls [zoom or google meet], emails, or text messaging/phone.

Macro Coaching

Macro-based online nutrition coaching means you will receive personalized guidance on nutrition by focusing on the three primary macronutrients: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.

This approach requires you to be willing and able to track your food intake, and is built on the idea that by adjusting and optimizing the intake of these macronutrients, you are able to achieve specific health and fitness goals. This approach is more flexible and adaptable in that you, as the client, are in charge of the actual food choices that will fit into your macro count.

MACRO coaching includes: 

Initial assessment of your goals, history, current dietary habits, and lifestyle

Personalized calculated macro ratios to fit you and your goals

Personalized caloric intake goals, adjusted to fit you and your goals

Monitoring and adjustment of macros and calories as you collect data and progress in your goals 

Check ins, regular communication, and follow ups with your coach weekly. 

It's important to note that while macro-based nutrition coaching can be effective for many individuals, it might not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with specific health conditions or those who require a more individualized or behavior/habit based approach may benefit from a more detailed plan to choosing food that fits into their lifestyle. If tracking and weighing your food doesn't sound like something that would fit into your lifestyle, this may not be the route for you. Additionally, the effectiveness of any nutrition coaching approach depends on the client's commitment to implementing the recommendations consistently.

Meal Plan Coaching

Meal plan-based online nutrition coaching involves the creation and guidance of structured meal plans to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

Our nutrition coaches work with you to develop a personalized meal plan that aligns with your preferences, lifestyle, and nutritional needs. Meal plan-based nutrition coaching is designed to offer structure and guidance, making it easier for you to make healthy food choices that align with your goals. Here we emphasize a personalized and practical approach to nutrition, and take into account your unique circumstances and preferences. This approach is more detailed and offers less flexibility in that your coach will guide you in food choices, meals/meal timing, habits/behaviors, and more. 

MEAL PLAN coaching includes: 

Initial assessment of your goals, history, current dietary habits, and lifestyle. 

Intake of nutritional requirements. This includes specifics like dietary restrictions, age, gender, activity level, specific health concerns, as well as food preferences and allergies. 

2 specific meal plans per month, each spanning 2 weeks in length. The first meal plan will cover the first 2 weeks of each month, the second meal plan will cover the last 2 weeks of each month. Each meal plan is different to help you experiment with food choices and gain practice in meal timing but both are created and personalized to fit your nutrient needs and goals. Feedback, data collection, and adjustments made throughout your coaching journey to achieve the best possible results. 

Habit coaching. A structured and personalized plan to help you approach behavior changes as needed. This might include tools to navigate emotional eating, stress related eating behaviors, or overall a more mindful approach to eating and nutrition. 

Constant and regular adjustments to your meal plan, follow ups, and communication with your coach weekly.

This approach is great for those who wish to have a bit more personalized guidance in their nutrition journey. Your coach will take a more hands on approach to helping you and will create a specific plan that takes into consideration your needs, lifestyle, and current habits and behaviors. Additionally, the effectiveness of any nutrition coaching approach depends on the client's commitment to implementing the recommendations consistently.

  • What is online nutrition coaching?

  • Do I choose my coach or do you put me with a coach?

    Based on your onboarding questionnaire, we will place you with the coach that best matches your needs and goals. We are open to changes if need be, but all of our coaches are educated and very experienced. Our hope is that you have a great experience no matter who you are with! 

  • What if I have dietary restrictions or need to follow a specific diet?

    We can absolutely cater to any dietary restrictions or dietary needs and preferences (this includes vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, carnivore, omnivore, and other preferences or restrictions).Our goal is to find a system that works best for you. 

  • What qualifications do you have as a nutrition coach?

    All of our coaches have professional education and/or specialized certifications in nutrition coaching. [precision nutrition, NASM, etc certifications]

  • How often do we have communication?

    We believe in the importance of regular and clear communication. Initially and especially for new clients, we require weekly video check-ins (around 30 minutes in duration) so we can connect and make sure the plan we have created together is going in the direction we want. All of our coaches are also available at any time via email and/or text message. Our goal is that you have a relationship with your coach that allows for clear and consistent communication. We acknowledge that some people may not need this much communication as time passes and that is something that can be discussed with your coach as you progress in your journey. 

  • What technology is needed for online coaching sessions?

    Email, phone/text, and a connection to zoom or google meet for weekly video check-ins. 

  • How do I get started with online nutrition coaching?

    Please submit your name and email here on the website and we will reach out to you with our online client intake questionnaire. Once the questionnaire is filled out by you and sent back to us, we will contact you with consultation times so we can get started as soon as possible. 

  • Can I cancel or reschedule appointments?

    You MUST communicate with your coach on any cancellations and reschedules. The weekly check-ins are a non-negotiable part of the package but can be moved around to fit your schedule. Your coach must have 24hrs notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Of course we understand emergencies come up and these can be discussed on a case by case scenario. If you need to cancel your coaching package all together we do ask for 1 month's notice given to your coach upon cancellation.
